BC Time Zone Change

Cloud Collective Support Updated by Cloud Collective Support

Starting November 1st, 2026, BC will move towards a year-round daylight savings time of Pacific time (UTC-7:00).

British Columbia is moving to a permanent year-round Pacific Time (UTC-7). As a result, clocks in most of B.C. will not move back one hour on November 1, 2026. We are updating company systems to support the new permanent UTC-7 Pacific Time. If your computer shows an incorrect time after the change, please contact IT Support rather than adjusting the clock manually.

What you need to do

  • Outlook on the web / New Outlook: Go to Settings > Calendar > View > Time zones. Display my calendar in time zone should be UTC-7:00.
  • Classic Outlook: Classic Outlook uses your Windows time zone so no work is required.
Tip: What version of Outlook do I have?
  • Update the meetings you organized. Any meetings where you are the organizer that takes place on or after November 1 (including recurring series) will need to be adjusted.
    • Open the meeting > Select the time zone option and choose UTC-7:00 > Send the update.
      • Do not move or edit meetings someone else has organized. Ask the organizer to update them.
      • Do not shift meetings by one hour to compensate. Change the meeting time zone.
