How to Setup & How to Perform Self-Serve Password Resets

NOTE: Only a mobile number that can receive text (SMS) messages is permitted for this setup.

Enrolling into Self Password Reset

  1. Go to https://aka.ms/ssprsetup and sign in with your MS 365 credentials.
  2. You will be brought to this page, select 'Add sign in method'.
  3. Select 'Phone' in the drop down menu and click add.

  4. Enter your Personal mobile number that will be used to receive text (SMS) messages and verify the code.
  5. You will be notified if registered correctly.

You are now setup for Self-Serve Password Resets!

Resetting Your Password

  1. Go to Outlook.office.com and enter your email address. click Next. Select 'Forgot my password'.
  2. Next, verify your email and finish the CAPTCHA. Click Next once done.
  3. Enter the phone number registered to your account and click Text.
  4. Enter code texted to your phone and click Next.
  5. Select to approve a Notification from MS Authenticator or Enter a code from MS Authenticator.
  6. Once Approved you will be brought to the next step, enter your new password.
  7. The process is complete. Please proceed to sign into your Microsoft account with the new password.
