Get Sound on a Local Machine from a Remote Session

Instructions

1. Audio should be enabled on the RDS, make sure it is not muted

If the sound icon has that red X on it that means it muted, if you left-click the sound icon and push the scroll wheel up it will increase the volume and unmute the audio

2. Once you have audio enabled in the remote session minimize the remote session and go to the same little sound icon on the local machine. Make sure it is not muted, if its not muted but there is still no sound left-click the sound icon and click the device name above the volume bar. Select the Speakers/Headphones option, this will make the sound play from the internal speaker on the computer or headphones if they are connected.

This .gif shows how to switch to the internal speaker

3. Once the speaker is set to play sound locally, un-minimize the remote session and test to make sure the audio is being transmitted, I usually test it by playing a random YouTube video, make sure you are browsing using Chrome, if you use internet explorer you might have audio issues.

4. If you hear the sound then you have successfully enabled sound for the RDS
